You can trace much of our modern senses of celebrity, variety performances and modern reality shows through this stalwart of the performance scene. But the world of the music halls throughout Scotland is a history that is not widely known, despite it's rich and diverse offerings.

From abolitionist orators to the biggest stars of stage and screen of the era, come along with us as we trip a little light fantastic through the performances and stories that make up the highs and the lows of this most formative yet often forgotten part of our creative history.

There'll be songs to sing along to, stories to pass along, and history to be awed by.
