What's On

This workshop of Historic Dancing focusing on Dundee is open to anyone interested, including Beginners. Wear soft shoes or trainers (no heels).

Instruction will be given by Alena Shmakova of Les Danses Antiques, based in Edinburgh. Alena teaches courses in country dances from the 18th and 19th centuries and has performed at various historic sites throughout Scotland.

Alena has researched old Scottish dances, collecting dances and music from many sources, including diaries, memoirs and private letters. In this workshop, she will include dances with a Dundee connection which she has found during her researches.

Please, if possible, register your interest by emailing rscdsdundee@gmail.com, but it will be possible to attend on the day if you are not able to do this. Payment will be at the door. If you need disabled parking or support during the workshop, please let us know by email.

There will be a break during which tea, coffee and biscuits will be served. Please bring your own cup.
