What's On - Mendelssohn: Elijah

For this year’s Christmas Concert, Dundee Choral Union will present Mendelssohn’s magnificent oratorio Elijah, joined by members of the Dundee branch of the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the Orchestra of Scottish Opera.

A star line-up of soloists led by bass-baritone Dingle Yandell in the title role, will bring the dramatic story of biblical prophet Elijah to vivid life. Filled with stirring choruses and moving solos, this Mendelssohn’s most celebrated piece was first performed by Dundee Choral Union in 1860, just 16 years after it was written.
