I SOCIAL INCLUSION PARTNERSHIP ? ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES AND SMALL GRANTS 2002/2003
There was submitted Report No 861-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making recommendations for the further allocation of Social Inclusion Partnership funding 1 and 2 for the financial year 2002/2003 and recommending a number of grants from the SIP1 and SIP2 Small Grants Fund.
The Committee approved the following recommendations:-
(a) to agree the further allocation of Social Inclusion Partnership funding 2002/2003 as detailed in Section 6 of the report;
(b) to note the Partnership's recommendations for the allocation of Social Inclusion Partnership 1 and 2 Drugs Misuse funding as detailed in Section 7 of the report;
(c) to agree the award of Social Inclusion Partnership 1 and 2 Small Grants as detailed in Appendices D and E of the report.
II PROGRESS ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION PARTNERSHIPS
There was submitted Report No 860-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development detailing the progress being made on public performance reporting and providing the Committee with details of progress achieved through implementation of Dundee's Social Inclusion Partnership (SIPS) during 2001/2002.
The Committee noted the progress being made in implementing each of the SIPS in Dundee and the continuing contribution that the programmes make to addressing social justice in the City.
III SOCIAL INCLUSION PARTNERSHIP ? ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES 2003/2004
There was submitted Report No 862-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making recommendations for the further allocation of Social Inclusion Partnership (SIP) funding for the financial year 2003/2004 in order that existing projects could be extended beyond their current funding period and new projects established.
The Committee noted the outcome of the SIP decision making process and agreed to the recommendations contained in Section 9 of the report. In addition, officers were instructed to proceed with the implementation of these proposals and any conditions contained in Appendix B of the report.
IV PLANNED MAINTENANCE 2002/2003 PHASE 3
There was submitted Report No 870-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development seeking approval for the carrying out of urgent roof repair works at Kirkton Neighbourhood Centre and Library as part of the Planned Maintenance Programme for 2002/03 as detailed in Appendix 1 of the report.
The Committee approved the following recommendations:-
(a) that the City Architectural Services Officer be authorised to negotiate a contract for this work with the Director of Dundee Contract Services;
(b) that the Director of Support Services, in conjunction with the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development, be authorised to accept the offer as recommended by the City Architectural Services Officer.
V PURCHASE OF IT COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT - TENDER
There was submitted Report No 868-2002 by the Head of Information Technology seeking Committee approval for acceptance of the recommended tender for the upgrade and enhancement of IT Communications Equipment for Dundee City Council's Corporate and Public Network.
The Committee approved the following recommendations:-
(a) to accept tender ITD/2002/03 amounting to 32,149 from ntl:business for the purchase of IT Communications Equipment as detailed in Appendix 1 of the report;
(b) to agree ongoing engineering maintenance costs of 2,203 per annum for the above purchases.
This report was also submitted to the Policy and Resources Committee on 9th December, 2002.
VI NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS FUND IV 2002/2003
There was submitted Report No 856-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making recommendations for grant awards from the National Organisations Fund. The grant awards would be met from the Department's Revenue Budget 2002/2003.

VII LOTTERY FUNDING ? THE FAIR SHARE INITIATIVE
There was submitted Report No 871-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development advising the Committee of the special allocation of lottery funding to Dundee and identifying a targeted neighbourhood.
The Committee approved the following recommendations:-
(a) to note the requirement for a joint bid to be submitted from the City Council and Dundee Voluntary Action (DVA);
(b) to agree the key elements of the bid;
(c) to agree that the selected neighbourhood be Charleston and to make the appropriate recommendation to the Dundee Partnership.
