A-Z Recycling Guide

For safety reasons do not place batteries in any your bins 

Devices containing batteries are highly reactive and flammable.

Vapes, e-liquids, pods and re-fills can now be recycled at most major supermarkets and other retailers who offer a take-back scheme. Find your nearest vape disposal outlet: www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk  

Vape outer packaging (cardboard)

• Flatten.
• Place in Blue Paper & Cardboard bins for recycling.
• Take to your nearest paper recycling point
• Can be recycled at Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres.

Vape Recycling Barrels

• Residents can also dispose of used/discarded vapes in speciliased vape recycling barrels located at both Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres.

• Can be recycled at both Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres.

• No black plastic please.
• Rinse out & squash. 
• Place in Burgundy Recycling Bins.
• Take to your nearest plastic recycling point. 
• Can be recycled at Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres.

• If in good condition, donate for reuse at Baldovie Reuse Hub.  
• Can be recycled at both Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres. 
• Use Bulky Uplift Service (chargeable). 

• No black plastic please.
• Rinse out & squash.
• Place in Burgundy Recycling Bins.
• Take to your nearest plastic recycling point. 
• Can be recycled at Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres.

• Place in Brown Garden Waste bin.
• Can be disposed of Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres - will be composted. 
• Discovery Compost is available for purchase from Riverside Composting Facility.

• Please carefully bag, tie up and dispose of all noxious weeds securely in strong bags and place in your grey general waste bin for incineration at Dundee's Energy from Waste Plant.
• Examples include Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed, Himalayan Balsam, Ragwort, Hemlock etc
• Please ensure appropriate safety precautions are in place whilst removing noxious weeds. For Japanese Knotweed or Giant Hogweed, it is strongly recommended commissioning the services of a licenced, trained professional regarding specialist removal and disposal.

Do not dispose of noxious weeds:

• in brown garden waste bins or at Household Waste Recycling Centres.

• Can be recycled at Riverside or Baldovie recycling centres.
• Please ensure wood/timber is free from other materials e.g. fabrics, plastic coatings etc. 
• Creosote treated timber is NOT accepted, and can be disposed of in thenn-recyclable waste skips.
• Pallet wood can be locally upcycled into new products.

• Not currently recycled.
• Do not place in Burgundy recycling bins.
• Place in Grey non-recyclable waste bin.

• No black plastic please.
