Free Taxi Re-Test Items
The Licensing Committee has agreed the following changes to taxi tests, effective from 7th August, 2023.
Should your vehicle fail its taxi test/raodside inspection on any of the free re-test items listed, up to a maximum of 3 individual defects then no re-test fee will be charged.
If your vehicle fails on more than 3 individual defects then a re-test fee will apply.
Free Re-Test Items
- Individual lamps including the txi sign (bulbs only) - excluding headlamps
- Windscreen wipers (damaged or worn)
- Individual wheel trims (missing)
- Individual mud flaps (missing or damaged)
- Individual number plates (damaged)
- Horn
- Fire Extinguisher
- Correct stickers on vehicle
- Bodywork/Paintwork
Any items not listed will incur a re-test charge of £50.
