  • Lochee Road at its junction with Dudhope Terrace

    prohibition of some entry and exit manoeuvres for 3 days commencing Saturday 31 July for City Fibre works.

  • South Castle Street (Riverside Esplanade to Blackwatch Parade)

    closed for 2 months for urban beach development works.

  • James Place from Westfield Road to Church Street (Section 3), Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4), Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5), Ambrose Street to Gray Street (Section 6) and Gray Street to St Vincent Street (Section 7)

    closed in phases as described for 10 months for Flood Prevention Works.  No more than 2 sections may be closed at the same time.

  • Candle Lane (Allan Lane to Dock Street)

    closed until September for crane lifting works for a new housing development.

  • Euclid Crescent/Euclid Street

    closed for 3 months for carriageway and footway surfacing works.

  • A90 Kingsway (at Old Glamis Road roundabout to Claverhouse junction) 

    overnight (7.30pm to 6.30am) lane closures for 6 weeks for street lighting work.

  • A90 Kingsway (at Myrekirk Road roundabout)

    overnight (7.30pm to 6.30am) northbound lane closure on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 August for carriageway patching.

  • A972 Kingsway East

    overnight (7.30pm to 6.30am) southbound lane closures on Monday 2 August for third party works.

  • Hill Street, Dundee (Strathmartine Road/Hilltown to Bruce Street)

    closed from Monday 2 August for 3‑5 days for road sett reinstatement repairs, access to be maintained.


  • Eliza Street (Albert Street to Dura Street)

    closed for 15 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • Craigie Street (Albert Street for 25 metres eastwards)

    closed for 15 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

    closed between Craigowl Street and Kinnoull Street from Monday 31 May for 3 months for sewer and access works.

    temporary traffic lights on Brook Street between Brewery Lane and Brook Court for 3 days starting 2 August 2021.

    rolling road closures from Monday 23 August for 5 weeks.  Roads affected are:  Clepington Road (Soutar Street to Hospital Street) closed eastbound; Hospital Street (Strathmore Avenue to Clepington Road) closed northbound; Hospital Street (Coldside Road to Strathmore Avenue) closed southbound; Strathmore Avenue (Hospital Street to Milton Street) closed eastbound; Milton Street (Strathmore Avenue to West Street) closed.  Closures will run consecutively.

    closed from Tuesday 24 August for 10 days for carriageway resurfacing works

  • Balunie Gardens

    closed Thursday 26 August for 2 days - carriageway resurfacing.

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
