    closed for 2 months for development works.

  • Carnegie Street/North George Street (Carnegie Street for 40 metres west)

    closed for 4 weeks for sewer works.

  • South Castle Street (Riverside Esplanade to Blackwatch Parade)

    closed for 12 months for urban beach development works.

  • Douglas Terrace from Dundee Road to Home Street (Section 1), Douglas Terrace from Home Street to Westfield Road (Section 2), James Place from Westfield Road to Church Street (Section 3), Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4) and Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5)

    closed for 12 months for urban beach development works.

  • Honeygreen Road (Glenconner Drive to Supermarket Entrance)

    closed for one week for SGN gas main renewal.

  • Fintry Drive (at Fintry Mains)

    temporary traffic lights for one week for gas main replacement.

     

  • South Road (Myrekirk Road to Mallaig Avenue)

    temporary traffic lights for one week for gas main replacement.

  • Pitkerro Road (at Longhaugh Road)

    temporary traffic lights for one week for gas main renewal works.

  • The Esplanade, Broughty Ferry - (1) from a point 110 metres or thereby from the junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 400 metres or thereby in a westerly direction, (2) westbound from Panmure Street to Brook Street and (3) from Brook Street to Castle Lane

    closed to vehicular traffic to provide physical distance measures for higher levels of pedestrians and cyclists.  This closure is expected to be in force for 12 months from 15 June 2020.

  • 20mph speed limit zone road marking and traffic sign works commencing Monday 22 June 2020 for 2 weeks to improve road safety for the higher levels of pedestrians and cyclists in the following streets in the Douglas area:

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
