  • Gellatly Street (car park entrance to Dock Street)    

    closed southbound until July 2026 for construction works.         

  • Constitution Road (from its junction with Bell Street to North Marketgait)       

    closed until September 2025 for redevelopment of multi‑storey car park and adjoining areas.         

  • Earl Grey Place West (South Crichton Street west for 50m)     

    closed until May 2025 for facilitating construction works.        

  • Blinshall Street (Douglas Street to 50 metres south)       

    closed until August 2025 for construction works.        

  • Douglas Street (Blinshall Street to Brown Street)       

    temporary traffic lights until August 2025 for construction works.       

  • Brown Street (south of Douglas Street)     

    closed until August 2025 for construction works.        

  • Rose Lane      

    closed to pedestrians (between Rosebank Road and Arthur Street) until Friday 30 May 2025 for ongoing housing development works.

    • Monifieth Road (Seabourne Gardens to Panmure Street) – no restrictions Tuesday 15 April for 3 weeks
    • Monifieth Road (Panmure Street to St Vincent Street) – closed west bound Monday 12 May for 3 weeks
  • Scottish and Southern Energy Networks Elmwood Cable Renewal Scheme  

    temporary traffic lights and road closure from Tuesday 4 March for 12 weeks:

    • Charleston Drive (near Elmwood Road) – temporary traffic lights for 5 weeks;
    • Ancrum Road (at Peel Street) – temporary traffic lights for 5 weeks; and
    • Tullideph Road (City Road to Greenbank Place) – closed westbound for 5 weeks.
    • Elmwood Road (Charleston Drive to Sutherland Place) – closed Monday 5 May for 3 weeks.
  • Law Summit Road    

    closed for one week to allow War Memorial maintenance and upgrading works. 

  • Perth Road (at Hyndford Street) 

    Give and take traffic control for 1 week from 21 April for lighting works.    

  • Drumgeith Road (at new East End Campus)  

    temporary traffic lights for one week for Scottish and Southern Energy Networks work.

  • Queen Street (Fort Street to Church Street) 

     

    Stop/Go traffic control on Saturday 19 April for carriageway lining works.

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
