    closed from Saturday 23 January for 3 days for water connection works.

  • South Castle Street (Riverside Esplanade to Blackwatch Parade)

    closed for 3 months for urban beach development works.

  • Douglas Terrace from Dundee Road to Home Street (Section 1), Douglas Terrace from Home Street to Westfield Road (Section 2), James Place from Westfield Road to Church Street (Section 3), Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4) and Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5)

    closed in phases as described for 11 months for Flood Prevention Works.  No more than 2 sections may be closed at the same time.

  • South Ward Road (North Lindsay Street to Argyllgait)

    closed for 4 weeks for building refurbishment works.

  • Hawkhill

    traffic control for up to one week for street lighting column removals.

  • Candle Lane (Allan Lane to Dock Street)

    closed for 16 weeks for crane lifting works for a new housing development.

  • The Esplanade, Broughty Ferry - (1) from a point 110 metres or thereby from the junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 400 metres or thereby in a westerly direction, (2) westbound from Panmure Street to Brook Street and (3) from Brook Street to Castle Lane

    closed to vehicular traffic from Tuesday 5 January to provide physical distance measures for higher levels of pedestrians and cyclists.  This closure is expected to be in force for 12 months.

  • Wentworth Avenue Area

    rolling road closures for 3 weeks for City Fibre cable installation work.  Streets affected are:  Troon Crescent, Troon Gardens, Troon Terrace, Wentworth Avenue, Wentworth Drive, Wentworth Gardens, Wentworth Lane and Wentworth Place.

  • Ardler Area 1

    rolling road closures for 3 weeks for City Fibre cable installation work.  Streets affected are:  East Scotscraig Lane, Scotscraig Road, Scotscraig Street and Troon Place.

  • Ardler Area 2

    rolling road closures for 3 weeks for City Fibre cable installation work.  Streets affected are:  Gleneagles Lane, Gleneagles Road, Gleneagles Street, St Fillans Place and St Fillans Road.

  • Strathmartine Road (at Gillburn Road to Balgowan Avenue)

    temporary traffic lights for 2 weeks for City Fibre works.

    closed until midweek for Scottish Water mains repair works.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
