Strathmartine Road (Five ways roundabout to Canning Street) 

closed for 4 days for lining refresh, split into 2 phases: Phase 1, Five ways roundabout to Patterson Street, Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 July.

Phase 2, Patterson Street to Canning Street, Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 July.

Gellatly Street (car park entrance to Dock Street)    

closed southbound until July 2026 for construction works.  

Rose Lane      

closed to pedestrians (between Rosebank Road and Arthur Street) until Tuesday 30 June 2026 for ongoing housing development works and boundary wall issues.  

Lochee High Street (between Bank Street and Methven Street)

closed for 2 weeks for drainage work.

Tay Road Bridge

early morning closures from 12.20am to 5.00am for CP maintenance works on the following dates:

 

  • Wednesday 1 July, Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8, Thursday 9, Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15, Thursday 16, Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 July.

Tay Road Bridge

footway closure for 12 weeks for maintenance works to a dangerous wall.

closed between Dunholm Road and Charleston Road for a community event on 21 and 22 August.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
