Organathon 2025

The Friends of the Caird Hall Organ will be running their fundraising Organathon between 1000 and 1600 on Saturday 8 March.

This well established event will feature seventeen organists from the local area and further afield, as well as other instrumentalists and two visiting choirs, each playing a short 20 minute recital. The organ will be in use constantly for 6 hours!

Visitors are welcome to come and go as they please or to stay for the full day. Refreshments will be available.

The players come from a variety of backgrounds, from students to well established players, and the final recital on the day will be given by international virtuoso organist Gordon Stewart, who has been Honorary President of FOCHO since it was established. Gordon will be retiring from this role later this year. You can expect a wide variety of styles of playing and music from across the centuries.

All the players will be collecting sponsorship to support the work of FOCHO. Leisure & Culture Dundee will shortly be starting a programme of restoration work on the organ console. FOCHO will be supporting this work financially and proceeds from the Organathon will help us to reach our fundraising goal.
