Participants can add a personal touch to the procession by joining free, hands-on lantern-making workshops, where they’ll craft Scottish animal-themed lanterns to light up the Hooley. Workshops are open to all ages, with pre-bookable and drop-in options available.

The parade will start and end at the High School of Dundee playground on Euclid Crescent, winding through Euclid Crescent, Panmure Street, Murraygate, High Street, Reform Street, and back to the High School playground. The procession is scheduled to depart at 5:30 pm, with registered participants asked to line up from 4:45 pm, and will last approximately one hour.

The Dundee Hooley is part of Dundee’s Christmas, a season-long celebration that will see the city transformed from November 21st to January 5th. City Square will become a winter wonderland featuring a real ice rink, traditional market stalls with local food, drink, and unique gifts, and festive fairground attractions. Each evening, a light show will illuminate the Square, and families can book an immersive Santa experience, designed to spark joy for all ages.

As the evening progresses, The Dundee Hooley will feature live music by Celtic fusion bands Skyrie and AWRY, as well as Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners, who bring new life to 90s club classics with their spirited style. Street traders will be on hand to provide warm food and drinks.
