The £100 million new state-of-the-art Drumgeith Community Campus opens its doors on Friday (22 August). 

This marks the start of the new school year and the first day for pupils attending the new Greenfield Academy.  

The campus will serve as a modern and vibrant central hub for the north and east of the city for both pupils and the community to use. The new Secondary School includes an enhanced pupil support provision will cater for around 1600 pupils initially. 

The extensive Campus facilities will also accommodate city wide music and performing arts activities.

Facilities for the community also include a community library, Games Halls and Gymnasiums, floodlit 3G football and 3G rugby all-weather pitches, a fitness suite, and a dance studio. 

Active Dundee, part of Leisure & Culture Dundee, has announced six weeks of free physical activities taking place at the Campus, starting Monday 26 August. The programme includes Primary Football, Pickleball, Dance, Group Fitness, and Family Fun sessions.  

The booking system for the facilities is live, and members of the public can book spaces and activities on our website.  

Dundee City Council and Robertson Construction worked in partnership to deliver this project. This partnership delivering significant community benefits by providing jobs, training and projects to improve the lives of local people. 

Council Leader Mark Flynn said: “This £100 million pound project marks the biggest Investment in education, sport and community provision in the city, the flagship Community Campus will deliver great facilities and services to the area.    

“I am absolutely delighted that we are ready to open the building and welcome young people, staff and the community into this great campus." 

Children, Families and Communities Convener Stewart Hunter said: “I know how excited our young people, teachers, staff and wider community are to finally get in the building and see all the great things that are on offer here. 

“We understand that moving to a new school can be daunting for young people. To support this transition our youth team are on site to help anyone who might need extra support to settle in. 

“Looking ahead, we are committed to working the school and wider community to ensure this campus meets their needs.” 

Fair Work, Economic Growth & Infrastructure Committee Convener Steven Rome said: "This £100 million project shows our ambition to create high quality facilities and schools in the heart of our local communities.  

"We have worked hard with the Robertson Group to deliver this project and ensure it has brought economic and social benefits across the city, including generating 40 employment opportunities for local people.    

"I want to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication in bringing this project to life."

Drumgeith Community Campus was delivered through Procurement Hub Major Projects 2 Framework (MPF2).
