V OLYMPIA LEISURE CENTRE - REFURBISHMENT OF WATER SLIDES
The Convener and Councillors Ross, Hunter, McCready and Bailie Wallace declared a non-financial interest in this item by virtue of their appointments to Dundee Leisure Board.
There was submitted Agenda Note AN241-2009 advising the Committee that, following a detailed inspection, a number of works were identified as part of a general refurbishment of the water slides at the Olympia. A quote had been received from a specialist contractor Universal Glass Fibre Products Limited, Dundee for 14,000. The works entailed the resealing of the joints and re-gelling of the slide paths and this would ensure the lifespan of the water slides was extended up until the projected closure of the Olympia.
The works would take place during the annual maintenance closure of the Olympia and would ensure that there was no disruption to customers.
The Committee agreed that the quotation be accepted, having noted that there was allowance for the work within the Leisure and Communities Capital Budget 2009/2010.
VI CAIRD HALL - SUPPLY, DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF GALLERY SEATING AND REMOVAL OF OLD SEATING
There was submitted Report No 597-2009 by Director of Leisure and Communities detailing the tenders received for the supply, delivery and installation of gallery seating and the removal of the old seating in the Caird Hall and seeking approval to accept the lowest tender.
The Committee approved the acceptance of the tender submitted by a company called Audience Seating at a cost of 48,450.
