I PARTNERSHIP IN PRACTICE AGREEMENT

 

There was submitted Report No 789-2004 by the Director of Social Work seeking approval for the 2004-2007 Partnership in Practice Agreement with Tayside Health Board.

 

The Committee agreed that the 2004-2007 Partnership in Practice Agreement with Tayside Health Board be approved and that it be submitted to the Scottish Executive.

 

II JOINT PERFORMANCE INFORMATION AND ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK - ANNUAL EVALUATION STATEMENT2003-2004

 

There was submitted Report No 847-2004 by the Director of Social Work on the progress towards joint working between Dundee City Council and NHS Tayside in the Dundee Partnership as detailed in the Annual Evaluation Statement from the Scottish Executive.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i)that the progress that had been made towards achieving joint working in the Dundee Partnership be noted; and

 

(ii)that the action that would be taken by the Director of Social Work in the Partnership to meet the Joint Performance Information and Assessment Framework requirements be approved.

 

IIIINTENSIVE SUPPORT AND MONITORING SERVICES

 

With reference to Article IV of minute of meeting of the Social Work Committee held on 23rd August 2004. There was submitted Report No 850-2004 updating members on progress made within Dundee to implement new arrangements for Intensive Support and Monitoring Services for high risk children.

 

The Committee agreed that the progress made in implementing this scheme in Dundee be noted.

 

IV ESTABLISHMENT OF SUBSTANCE MISUSE PRE AND POST BIRTH ASSESSMENT AND SUPPORT SERVICE

 

There was submitted Joint Report No 843-2004 by the Director of Social Work and Assistant Chief Executive (Management) providing information about a proposed new pre and post birth assessment and support service and seeking approval for the establishment of two new social work posts within children's services. The joint initiative with health would aim to improve the identification of needs, assessment and support provided to substance misusing pregnant women and their unborn babies in Dundee.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i)that the establishment of the substance misuse pre and post birth assessment and support services which would improve the identification of needs, assessment and support provided to substance misusing women and babies in Dundee be approved; and

 

(ii)that the personnel implications arising from the report be remitted to the Personnel Committee for consideration.

 

V DUNDEE COMMUNITY LIVING CHARGES

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN490-2004 advising that the Dundee Community Living provided a support and care service to 19 adults with learning disabilities living in seven houses in the City and that the Council now required to set charges for the two elements of the service provided.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i)that a charge of 372 per week be made for the care service and that a charge of 938 per week be made for a support service; and

 

(ii)that the charges take effect from 1st January 2005.

 

VI TENDERS RECEIVED - FRIARFIELD HOUSE WORKSHOP - REPLACEMENT HEATING SYSTEM

 

There was submitted Report No 831-2004 by the City Architectural Services Officer detailing tenders received and requesting a decision on acceptance thereof.

 

The Committee agreed that the offer from NG Bailey & Co Ltd, Dundee amounting to 28,233.98 be accepted. The Committee noted that NG Bailey & Co Ltd had listed the undernoted sub-contractors:-

 

George Martin Builders, Dundee

East Coast Construction.
