Under the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1994 and the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011, Dundee City Council is required to make appropriate provision for the storage, preservation and management of records created by the Council and its predecessors, including:
- Dundee Town Council/Corporation
- The City of Dundee District Council
- Tayside Regional Council
We also hold records on behalf of the National Records of Scotland under their Charge and Superintendence arrangements. These include Church of Scotland records for the Presbytery of Dundee, Customs and Excise records for Dundee, Dundee Justices of the Peace and Sheriff Court plans of works.
