Report For Week Commencing Monday 25 September 2023

  • Candle Lane (Allan Lane to Dock Street)    

    closed until 22 October 2023 for sewer works/utility connections/retaining wall works for a new housing development.  Ongoing Scottish Water issue is currently being resolved to allow road and footway reinstatement.

  • Rose Lane/Tulloch Crescent/Arthur Street

    closed until 1 November 2023 for structural works as part of forthcoming new housing development.

  • Broomhill Road (Angus Court for 40m northbound)

    closed until December 2023 for Optimal Power Networks electricity infrastructure work.

  • Brown Street (south of Douglas Street)

    closed for 13 months until May 2024 for construction works.

  • Seafield Road, Dundee

    closed from its westmost end (in cul-de-sac) extending for a distance of no more than 20 metres in an easterly direction to facilitate a site access for a new housing development.  Commencing Tuesday 22 August 2023 for 15 months.

     

  • Tay Road Bridge

    closed northbound from Monday 12 June for 6 months for resurfacing and movement joint replacement.  Contraflow on southbound carriageway in operation.

     

     

  • A90 Kingsway (at Coupar Angus Road)

    overnight (7.30pm to 5.30am) northbound lane closure on Friday 22 September for gully/ironworks repair.

  • Gourdie Place

    closed between Gourdie Crescent and Brownhill Road for drainage works (for new housing) commencing from Friday 22 September for 2 days.

  • Riverside Drive – Phase 2

    Phase 2 - overnight road closure for carriageway resurfacing (7.00pm to 6.00am) from Sunday 24 September to Tuesday 26 September at Riverside Approach to Riverside Pavilion.

  • Riverside Drive – Phase 3

    Phase 3:  overnight road closure for carriageway resurfacing (7.00pm to 6.00am) from Sunday 24 September to Friday 29 September – Riverside East roundabout to Tesco Riverside roundabout.

  • A90 Forfar Road (at Emmock roundabout)

    overnight (7.30pm to 6.30am) southbound convoy working from Sunday 24 September for one week for structural repairs.

  • Dens Road (Dura Street to Arthurstone Terrace)

    closed from Monday 25 September for one week for road safety improvement works.

  • Birkdale Place/Dalmahoy Drive

    temporary traffic lights from Monday 25 September for 2 weeks for Scottish and Southern Energy Network cable renewal scheme.

  • Blackness Road (Rosefield Street to Rosefield Place)

    closed from Monday 25September for 3 weeks for pedestrian traffic signal crossing refurbishment.

  • Commercial Street/Murraygate junction

    closed for approximately 30m in each direction for junction realignment and road surfacing works.  Commencing 25 September for 10 weeks.

  • Ward Road/North Lindsay Street/Johnston Street

    lane closures and traffic control for 3 weeks from Monday 25 September for cladding replacement works.

  • Moncur Crescent (at Mains Road)

    temporary traffic lights Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 September for Hyperoptics work.

    rolling temporary traffic control, lane closures, mini contraflows and temporary traffic lights from Monday 25 September for one week for BT work.

  • Balgarthno Road (from Balgarthno Street to Gourdie Crescent)

    temporary traffic lights from Tuesday 26 September for one week for new gully installations.

  • East Marketgait (at King Street)

    fast lane closure Tuesday 26 September 10.00am to 11.30am for installation of LEZ camera.

  • Gellatly Street (at Dock Street)

    closed on Tuesday 26 September from 3.00pm to 4.30pm for installation of LEZ Camera.

  • Clepington Road (at Lintrathen Gardens)

    temporary traffic lights from Tuesday 26 September for one week for Scottish Water work.

  • A90 Swallow Roundabout

    southbound lane closures overnight (7.30pm to 5.30am) from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 September gully/ironwork repairs.

    closed for footway resurfacing from Monday 9 October for 2 weeks.

    closed from Monday 9 October for 2 weeks for drainage connection and new gullies/manholes.

  • Gourdie Terrace (from Balgarthno Street to approximately 150 metres east) 

    closed from Tuesday 10 October for one week for new gully installations.

    temporary traffic lights on Friday 13 October for Hutchison 3G work.

    closed for carriageway resurfacing east of link road from Berwick Drive commencing 16 October for 10 days.

  • Camperdown Road (westbound from Strathmartine Road to Frederick Street)

    closed from Monday 16 October for one week for sewer connection works.

    rolling road closures on Harrison Road (full length); Faraday Street (Harrison Road to A923 Coupar Angus Road); A923 Coupar Angus Road (Faraday Street to A90 Kingsway) and A923 Coupar Angus Road (A90 Kingsway to Dunsinane Avenue) from Monday 16 October for 5 weeks.

  • Scottish and Southern Energy Networks Lochee Cable Renewal Scheme

    rolling road closures on Cedarwood Drive (Cedarwood Close to Cedarwood Drive); Harefield Road (Stack Retail Park to Kings Cross Road); Methven Street (Methven Street to Camperdown Street); Camperdown Street; Burnside Street (Camperdown Street to Burnside Walk) and Gray’s Lane from Monday 16 October for 8 weeks.

  • Dens Road (at Alexander Street)

    temporary traffic lights on Friday 20 October for Hutchison 3G work.

  • Elmwood Road

    give and take for 4 weeks from Monday 23 October for street lighting works.

  • Elgin Street

    closed for carriageway patching for its full length commencing 30 October for 5 days.

  • Finavon Place

    closed for carriageway patching for its full length commencing 6 November for 5 days.

  • Clepington Road (at Cardross Street)

    off-peak 4-way temporary traffic lights from Monday 30 October for one week for footway resurfacing. 

 


Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.

Please note the information provided is current as of the Friday prior to the report date and is subject to change at any time.  Any updates after publication on Fridays are indicated in bold.
