closed northbound from 6.00pm on Sunday 15 March for one week for Scotland Gas Network work.

Gellatly Street (car park entrance to Dock Street)    

closed southbound until July 2026 for construction works.

Old Hawkhill

road closed from approximately 50m south of Hunter Street (building defect) from 9 October 2025 for approximately 3 - 6 months.

Rose Lane      

closed to pedestrians (between Rosebank Road and Arthur Street) until Tuesday 31 March 2026 for ongoing housing development works and boundary wall issues.

Baird Avenue 

temporary traffic lights for one week for footway surfacing works.

St Fillans Road

footway closures and give and take traffic control for 2 weeks for lighting works.

Dudhope roundabout

lane closures for 2 weeks for lighting works.

Dykes of Gray Road 

full road closure for installation of new sewer for new housing development.  The road will be closed between Nethergray Entry and Denhead of Gray Road. Diversions will be in place for both northbound and southbound traffic.  Local diversions will also be in place.  Access to Denhead of Gray Road will be maintained at all times using temporary traffic lights.  Commencing 9 February for 4 weeks.

Bank Street, Lochee

closed until Wednesday 18 March for environmental improvement work.

Provost Road (Moncur Crescent to Marryat Street)

closed northbound for one week for Scotland Gas Network work.

Pitkerro Road (A972 Kingsway East to Happyhillock Road)

closed from Monday 23 February for 4 weeks for carriageway resurfacing and road safety improvement works.

St Mary’s Lane (at High Street)

closed for one week for Scotland Gas Network work.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
