Can you vote? ... not everyone can ...

To vote in local elections you have to be 16 or over and be

• a British
• Irish citizen 
• A qualifying Commonwealth citizen or qualifying foreign national (i.e. you have leave to enter or remain in the UK or don’t require leave to enter or to remain in the UK) permanently living in the UK

Poll Cards

You can only vote at the polling station which has your name on their register. Details of which polling station you should use will be displayed on your poll card. Poll Cards will be issued around 3rd September 2024.

Please ensure you check the poll card sent to you for details of where you should go to vote in person.

A By Election to fill one vacancy will be held on Thursday 3rd October 2024

Voting will be held using the single transferable vote (STV) system of voting whereby you rank candidates in order of your preference with your first preference 1, second preference 2 etc. You can vote for as many or as few of the candidates as you wish.
