Community Regeneration funding boost to city projects

A report outlining how reallocated Community Regeneration Partnership funding is helping to deliver local projects is due to go before Councillors next week.

The update highlights how £3 million became available within the Community Regeneration Partnership programme for previously approved projects following the removal of plans for a Central Waterfront Office.

The funding includes an additional £500,000 for the Dundee Museum of Transport to further enhance its exhibition offer, building on a previous allocation of £1.5 million.

The report also notes an allocation of £500,000 to support a further round of the Community Facilities Challenge Fund, helping organisations to deliver projects for young people across Dundee.

City Governance Committee Convener Cllr Mark Flynn said: “The Community Regeneration Partnership programme is helping to deliver projects that will benefit local people.

“By reallocating funding following changes within the programme, we have been able to bolster existing support for projects in the city and make a positive contribution.

“This funding is supporting the Dundee Museum of Transport as it works towards an exciting future at its new home at Maryfield Tram Depot.

“It is also enabling another round of the Community Facilities Challenge Fund which is supporting organisations throughout the city to provide various exciting opportunities for children and young people.”

The city was allocated a total of £20 million under the former Levelling Up Partnership, which is now named the Community Regeneration Partnership (CRP) under the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

The Capital Monitoring 2026/27 report will go to the Council’s City Governance Committee on Monday 26th October.
