City Centre Community Clean-Up

City centre partners and the Council came together this week to carry out another Community Clean-Up in Dundee’s city centre area.
The initiative, part of the ongoing Take Pride in Your City campaign, looks to make a positive difference to the city’s neighbourhoods, parks and open spaces.
The three-day event saw litter picking, the removal of debris, cleaning around bins as well as mechanical and manual sweeping to path & street areas within the city centre vicinity.
Daily litter picking also took place and was supported by McDonalds and Cycling Without Age.
Climate, Net Zero and Environment Depute Convener Cllr Lee Mills said: “The Community Clean-Ups have been made successful through the buy-in from the public, community groups and local stakeholders.
“It has been very encouraging to see businesses, organisations and residents carry forward this positive momentum by getting behind the scheme.”
The Community Clean-Up initiative has previously taken place in several other areas of the city.
Information about upcoming Clean-ups are communicated directly to local residents ahead of taking place.
