Armed Forces Day

The people of Dundee will come together in City Square later this month to mark Armed Forces Day.
Members of the public and veterans will pay tribute to the work of all branches of the armed forces at noon on Saturday (June 28).
Lord Provost of Dundee Bill Campbell, who is also Armed Forces and Veterans Champion for Dundee will speak at the event.
He said: “With 2025 marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe, this event takes on a special poignancy and resonance.
"Armed Forces Day gives us a chance to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to service families, veterans and cadets and I would encourage you to join me in City Square to help do so."
There will be short service on the steps of the Caird Hall at midday attended by officers and elected members of Dundee City Council, MPs, MSPs and other invited guests, including military representatives.
Ex-services personnel in attendance will parade their standards, and Reverend Bob Wightman, Ex-Services Association Chaplain will lead the service. Readings will be given by Major (Retd) Colin Gray.
