Volunteer Stitchers needed for Downfield Primary School Tapestry

Pupils from Downfield Primary School are creating a tapestry to commemorate the school’s 150th anniversary.
Inspired by the Dundee Tapestry, pupils from the school have been designing their own tapestry that draws inspiration from the school’s past, present and future.
Now, the school is appealing for volunteer stitchers to support the pupils in progressing the tapestry throughout the summer holidays.
The project offers an opportunity to be part of the legacy of Downfield Primary.
Children, Families and Communities Convener Stewart Hunter said: “It’s important we celebrate the rich history of the school whilst embracing its future.
“It’s great to see the progress that the pupils have made so far and the design element of the tapestry coming together.
“I would encourage anyone interested in learning to stich, looking to help or interested in the local area to get in touch with support the pupils in the creation of this tapestry.”
