I DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

 

Lord Provost Borthwick declared a non-financial interest in Article III by virtue of a family member being a serving Police Officer.

 

II SCOTTISH FIRE AND RESCUE QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE REPORT - 1ST APRIL TO 30TH JUNE, 2019

 

There was submitted Report No 272-2019 by Area Manager Pryde providing information for the Committee regarding the performance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service against the priorities, outcomes and performance indicators detailed within the Local Fire and Rescue Plan for Dundee 2017-2020, to facilitate local scrutiny.

 

The Committee agreed to note, scrutinise and question the content of the report.

 

III DUNDEE CITY POLICING AREA PERFORMANCE RESULTS - 1ST APRIL TO 30TH JUNE, 2019

 

There was submitted Report No 273-2019 by Chief Superintendent Todd providing information for the Committee regarding the performance of Police Scotland against performance indicators that would facilitate local scrutiny.

 

The Committee agreed to note and scrutinise the operational report.

 

IV COMMUNITY SAFETY AND JUSTICE PROGRESS REPORT 2018/2019

 

There was submitted Report No 252-2019 by the Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services providing an overview of progress on Community Safety and Justice related activity in 2018/2019.

 

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the content of the report and the continued progress made in relation to Community Safety and Justice;

 

(ii) note that the effective delivery of Community Safety and Justice continued to be an important element of the City Plan and Community Justice Outcome Improvement Plan;

 

(iii) instruct the Executive Director, Neighbourhood Services to provide a further report on progress in 12 months; and

 

(iv) recommend that the implementation of Operation Close Pass would be a positive initiative for safer cycling in the city and that Dundee City Council revisit the introduction of the operation with Police Scotland.

 

V DUNDEE COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP COMMISSIONING BUDGET 2019/2020

 

There was submitted Report No 253-2019 by the Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services seeking approval for the Dundee Community Safety Partnership Commissioning Budget 2019/2020.

 

The Committee agreed to approve the proposed allocations which would allow partners to provide a strategic response to the Community Safety priority areas of work as identified within the Dundee Community Safety and Justice Local Outcomes and Improvement Plan (LOIP). Outcome 6 - Our communities will be safe and feel safe.
