I PROPOSALS FOR CONSULTATION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE THIRTY THREE PERIOD WEEK IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS
There was submitted Report No 424-2011 by the Director of Education informing the Committee of a proposal for the introduction and implementation of a 33 period model across all secondary schools.
The Committee:-
(i) noted the contents of the report;
(ii) approved the rationale for the proposal;
(iii) agreed the timescale for the consultation period; and
(iv) instructed the Director of Education to report back on the consultation process in January 2012.
II TENDERS RECEIVED
There was submitted Report No 442-2011 by the City Architectural Services Officer detailing tenders received and requesting a decision thereon.
(i) DUNDEE PRIMARY SCHOOLS PROJECT - LOOSE FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer from K M Furniture Ltd, Chesterfield for 568,046.17, together with allowances for:-

III PROCUREMENT OF SCHOOL TRANSPORT
There was submitted Agenda Note AN147-2011 informing the Committee that to accommodate the transport needs of pupils entitled to free home to school transport for session 2011/2012, it was necessary to tender 21 education transport contracts.
Given the requirement to have contracts in place prior to the new academic session, the Director of Education and the Director of City Development, in consultation with the Convener and Spokespersons of the other Groups, accepted the following tenders:-
