I HOUSING DEPARTMENT SERVICE PLAN PERFORMANCE REPORT 2004/05
The Director of Housing submitted Report No 401-2005 reporting on the performance of the Housing Department against its service plan 2004/05.
The Committee noted the Housing Department's performance for 2004/05.
II HOUSING ESTATE REGENERATION BID 2005-2008
The Director of Housing submitted Report No 415-2005 seeking the Committee's agreement to the contents of the report and the submission of the Housing Estate Regeneration Bid (HERF) 2005-2008. The Housing Committee:-
(a) agreed the content of the bid;
(b) remitted to the Director of Housing to submit the bid to Communities Scotland and;
(c) remitted to the Director of Housing to report back to Committee on the outcome of the bid assessment by Community Scotland.
III TENDERS RECEIVED
(a) the City Architectural Services Officer submitted Report No 406-2005 giving details of offers received for the undernoted contracts:-
(i) CAMPERDOWN 10TH DEVELOPMENT - PITCHED ROOF RENEWAL - PHASE I
The Committee agreed to accept the negotiated offer with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 173,291.57 together with allowances of 1,386 for planning supervisor and 11,308 for professional services making a total expenditure of 185,985.57.
(ii) 4/5 MARRYAT STREET - ROOF REPAIRS
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Ward Building Services Limited amounting to 32,674 together with allowances of 414 for planning supervisor and 3,847 for professional services making a total expenditure of 36,935.
The Committee also noted that Ward Building Services Limited had listed Ward Plumbing and Heating as the Sub-Contractor for plumber work.
(iii) WEST KIRKTON 1ST DEVELOPMENT - PITCHED ROOF REPLACEMENT - PHASE I
The Committee agreed to accept the negotiated offer with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 186,304.39 together with allowances of 1,452 for planning supervisor and 11,835 for professional services making a total expenditure of 199,591.39.
(b) the City Engineer submitted Report No 361-2005 giving details of offers received for the undernoted contracts:-
(i) 1-26 REID SQUARE AND 14-16 DERBY STREET - DEMOLITION
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Trojan Contracting Limited amounting to 36,250 together with the undernoted allowances:-

(ii) CONCRETE REPAIRS TO EXTERNAL ELEMENTS 2005/2006
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer from Castle Contracting amounting to 80,877 together with allowances of 2,500 for contingencies, 7,200 for professional fees and 800 for planning supervisor making a total expenditure of 91,377.
IV REGISTERED TENANT ORGANISATIONS - ADMINISTRATION GRANTS
There was submitted Agenda Note AN239-2005 requesting grant assistance towards administration costs for 2005/2006 from the following groups:-

V ENERGY ACTION SCOTLAND - ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
There was submitted Agenda Note AN240-2005 requesting the Committee to authorise the Director of Housing to continue membership of Energy Action Scotland (EAS) at a cost of 140 plus VAT per annum to be funded from the Housing Revenue Account.
The Committee approved accordingly.
VI HOUSING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1987 - ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT GRANTS
There was submitted Agenda Note AN241-2005 requesting the Committee to authorise an increase in the approved expense limit applicable to Environmental Improvement Grants to a maximum of 1,000 per flat.
The Committee approved the increase in grant to 1,000 maximum per flat.
VII HOUSING (SCOTLAND) ACT 2001 - IMPROVEMENT, REPAIRS AND ENVIRONMENTAL GRANTS, HOME LOANSETC
There was submitted Agenda Note AN242-2005. Reference was made to the minute of meeting of the Housing Committee of 15th November 1999 when grant expenditure now under Private Sector Housing Grant was agreed. It was agreed that the grants approved during May 2005 in each of the categories were as follows:-

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.
VIII 0.028 ACRE SITE, CLEPINGTON ROAD
It was agreed to withdraw this item.
IX SALE OF GARDEN GROUND - 23 STRIPS OF CRAIGIE ROAD
The Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 424-2005 seeking approval of the sale of ground at 23 Strips of Craigie Road to an interested party.
The Committee agreed to the sale on the terms and conditions detailed.
