I H M INSPECTORS OF SCHOOLS - INSPECTION OF STANDARDS AND QUALITY IN ST NINIANS RCPRIMARY SCHOOL AND NURSERY CLASS
There was submitted and noted H M Inspectors report on St Ninians RC Primary School and Nursery Class.
II TENDERS RECEIVED
There was submitted Report No.594-2001 by the City Architectural Services Officer detailing tenders received and requesting a decision on acceptance thereof.
(i) FORTHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL - RENEWAL OF ROOF COVERINGS
The Committee agreed acceptance of the offer from Tay Roofing Service Ltd, Dundee for the renewal of roof coverings at Forthill Primary School for the sum of 13,460.40, together with allowances of 2,320.00, giving a total of 15,780.40.
(ii) CRAIGIE HIGH SCHOOL - RENEWAL OF ROOF COVERINGS
The Committee agreed acceptance of the negotiated offer from Dundee Contract Services for the renewal of roof coverings at Craigie High School for the sum of 36,780.00, together with allowances of 9,670.00, giving a total of 46,450.00.
III ST JOHN'S HIGH SCHOOL - SPECIAL NEEDS BASE EXTENSION - PARTNERSHIP CONTRACT
There was submitted Report No.619-2001 by the City Architectural Services Officer detailing the partnering contract to carry out alterations to provide additional accommodation for the special needs base.
The Committee approved acceptance of Torith Ltd, Dundee as the Partnering Contractor for the works.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public and press be excluded during consideration of the undernoted items on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of information which was exempt in terms of paragraph 5 of Schedule 7A to the Act.
IV REQUESTS FOR HOME EDUCATION
(a) There was submitted Report No.620-2001 by the Director of Education, seeking approval for the provision of education at home for two Dundee pupils of primary school age.
The Committee agreed to:-
(i) approve the proposal for education at home for the above children; and
(ii) instruct the Director of Education to monitor the children's progress at regular intervals.
(b) There was submitted Report No.621-2001 by the Director of Education seeking approval for the provision of education at home for a Dundee pupil of secondary school age.
The Committee agreed to:-
(i) approve the proposal for education at home for the above child; and
(ii) instruct the Director of Education to monitor the child's progress at regular intervals.
