Housing, Dundee Contract Services And Environment Services Committee - 10/03/2003

I THE LAW - 1ST INTERNATIONAL RESCUE CORPS - CHARITY SOAP BOX DERBY

There was submitted Agenda Note AN130-2003 informing the Committee that a request had been received from the 1st International Rescue Corps to hold a Charity Soap Box Derby on the road up the Law on 20th September 2003.

The Committee agreed to approve the event subject to the International Rescue Corps providing the necessary insurance indemnifying the Council against damage to property, injury or loss of life etc to members of the public and participants and in addition to any services being provided by the department being paid for by the organisation. In addition, an acceptable risk assessment will be forwarded and approved by the relevant Council Officer prior to the event going ahead.

II FINTRY NORTH RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION - CHEVIOT PROJECT

There was submitted Agenda Note AN131-2003 informing the Committee that the Fintry North Residents Association had approached the Council to develop a former playground site to the north of Cheviot Crescent in Fintry as a multi purpose recreation area. The facility is being developed by the local community to provide a much needed facility for local children. The Association had received initial funding in 2002/03 from SIP's to develop the site and were actively seeking further funding for complete development of the facilities.

In order for the Association to take forward the project the Committee agreed to approve the initiative to progress the proposals on Dundee Contract Services ground and for officers to assist the Association developing the site.

III SUPPLY OF NEW FORESTRY TRACTOR 2002/2003

There was submitted Report No 188-2003 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of fixed prices submitted by specialist suppliers for a new forestry tractor required by Dundee Contract Services for the financial year 2002/2003.

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest valid tender of 30,950.00 received from Agricar Ltd, Forfar.

IV SUPPLY OF TYRES AND TYRE REPAIRS 2003/2004

There was submitted Report No 182-2003 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of rates submitted by Tyre Suppliers and Tyre Repairers for the supply of same, as and when required for the financial year 2003/2004.

The Committee agreed to accept the prices tendered as detailed in the report and drawn on in order of price tendered with consideration given to availability and service.
