I TRANSFER OF LAND AT ARDLER
On a reference to Article X of the minute of meeting of the Housing Committee of 20th January 2003, Article I of the DSO Committee of 9th December 2002 and Article V of the Housing and Leisure and Arts Committee of 18th November 2002 respectively, there was submitted Agenda Note AN51-2003 requesting authority to dispose of an adjacent small section of waste ground from Dundee Contract Services to the owner occupiers at 232 and 234 Rosemount Road, subject to Scottish Ministers consent as required.
The Committee gave authority to implement the disposal, subject to Scottish Ministers' consent as required.
II WHITFIELD COMMUNITY WOODLAND
There was submitted Report No 825-2002 by the Directors of Planning and Transportation, Housing and Dundee Contract Services bringing to the Committee's attention a proposal to create an estate wide community woodland in Whitfield.
The Committee:-
(i) agreed the details of the proposal and noted the development of an estate wide framework for future developments which will be reported to future Committees;
(ii) remitted appropriate officers to begin consultations on the estate wide programme of community woodlands within interested community groups;
(iii) remitted appropriate officers to reach agreement with a local training organisation regarding training placements;
(iv) approved the allocation of parts of the budgets already assigned within the Housing Capital expenditure plan to the projects;
(v) accepted the offer from Dundee Contract Services of 135,000 for the first scheme at Dunbar Park; and
(vi) approved the overall expenditure on the first scheme of 150,000 which included further allowances of 15,000 for fees and contingencies.
III DLO/DSO FINANCIAL OPERATING STATEMENTS FOR THE NINE MONTHS ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2002
There was submitted Report No 139-2002 by the Chief Executive and Director of Finance appraising the Committee on the financial position of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) and Direct Service Organisations (DSO) for the nine months ended 31st December 2002.
The Committee:-
(i) noted the current financial position of each of the respective DLO and DSOs; and
(ii) instructed the appropriate Chief Officers within each DLO and DSO to take the necessary actions to ensure that their DLO/DSO's budgeted surplus is achieved in the financial year 2002/2003.
IV DIRECT LABOUR ORGANISATION OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE FOR THE NINE MONTHS ENDED 31STDECEMBER 2002
There was submitted Report No 138-2003 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of the operational performance of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) for the nine months ended 31st December 2002.
The Committee:-
(i) noted the operational performance of the DLO for the period stated; and
(ii) where necessary, instructed the relevant Chief Officers within the City Council to take the appropriate steps to ensure the DLO achieves its performance targets.
