The minute of meeting of this Committee of 15th April, 2002 was held as read.

I TENDERS RECEIVED

 

The City Architectural Services Officer submitted Report No 325-2002 giving details of offers received to install CCTV and a PA installation at Tayside House.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Electro Guard Security Systems amounting to 21,939.03 to which required to be added an allowance of 3,500 for professional services making a total expenditure of 25,439.03.

 

The Committee also noted that Electro Guard Security Systems had listed D H Morris Limited as the sub-contractor for electrical work.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

There was submitted Report No 316-2002 by the Director of Economic Development detailing commercial leases in respect of the undernoted premises:-

III RENT REVIEWS

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 317-2002 by the Director of Economic Development detailing the review of rent in respect of the undernoted premises:-

2 Marshall Street

 

IV 0.809 HA (2 ACRES) OR THEREBY, SITE AT FOWLER ROAD, WEST PITKERRO INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN57-2002 advising that the Director of Economic Development had negotiated the sale of the above site to an interested company for construction of an industrial unit with associated offices, car parking etc., together with the lease of a separate unit during the development of the new facility.

 

The Committee approved the sale of the above site and lease of the unit on the terms stated and remitted to the Director of Support Services to conclude the necessary legal formalities.

 

V DUNDEE VOCATIONAL TRAINING INITIATIVE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN58-2002 reporting for the information of the Committee that after consultation with the Convener and the appropriate Spokespersons of the Opposition Groups, the Director of Economic Development had agreed to second an officer to act as the Manager of the above initiative on a part-time basis until February 2003.

 

VI PROPOSED DUNDEE/MANCHESTER AIR SERVICE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN59-2002 reporting for the information of the Committee that the Director of Economic Development, after consultation with the Convener and the appropriate Spokespersons of the Opposition Groups, had agreed that the Council provide a package of assistance to the operators of the above service for the first six months of the service together with relocation of an anemometer mast and windsock at Dundee Airport.
