The minute of meeting of this Committee of 19th November, 2001 was held as read.

I CAMPERDOWN PARK - APPLICATION FOR USE - DUNDEE MILITARY SHOW
The Director of Leisure and Parks reported that an application had been received from the Armed Forces Careers Office to provide a Military Show at Camperdown Country Park on 30th June 2002.
The Committee approved the application and remitted to the Director of Economic Development to enter into a lease agreement. The Committee also noted that the event would be subject to the necessary insurances being provided indemnifying the Council against damage to property, injury, or loss of life, etc, to members of the public, and in addition, to any services being provided by the Department being paid for by the applicant. In addition, an acceptable risk assessment would have to be forwarded and approved by the relevant Council Officer prior to the event going ahead.
II COUNCIL GOLF COMPETITION FOR 2002
The Committee agreed that the priority of the courses be granted in connection with the undernoted Council's Sponsored Golf Competitions organised by the Leisure and Parks Department for various dates during 2002:-

III CAMPERDOWN WILDLIFE CENTRE - OTTER ENCLOSURE
The Director of Leisure and Parks submitted Report No.804-2001 seeking approval to carry out improvement works to the otter enclosure at Camperdown Park Wildlife Centre.
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by T & N Gilmartin amounting to 19,954.30 including contingencies.
IV CYCLING FOR ALL AT CAMPERDOWN PARK
On a reference to Article V (b) of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 19th November, 2001 the Director of Leisure and Parks submitted Report No.786-2001 on the Cycling for All project at Camperdown Country Park.
The Committee (a) agreed that works to the value of 23,515 including fees be undertaken by British Trust Conservation Volunteers as an extension of the tender approved on 19th November, 2001, and (b) remitted to the Director of Leisure and Parks to report to a future meeting of this Committee on the outcome of the Sports Lottery Bid.
V STANNERGATE WALKWAY - FEASIBILITY STUDY
The Director of Leisure and Parks and the Director of Planning and Transportation submitted joint Report No.787-2001 requesting approval to undertake a feasibility study to identify options to reconstitute this foreshore route for the Green Circular.
The Committee gave approval for a feasibility study into the Stannergate Walkway to be undertaken and agreed to accept the offer from the City Engineers Division to undertake the study for 17,000.
VI LOCHEE PARK SPORTS PAVILION - ROOF COVERING RENEWAL
The City Architectural Services Officer submitted Report No 759-2001 detailing the proposed Partnering contract to carry out roofing works at the above pavilion.
The Committee agreed to appoint Raynor Roofing Limited as the Partnering Contractor for these works.
VII TENDERS RECEIVED
(a) Windmill Toilets, Broughty Ferry - Disabled Toilet Installation
The City Architectural Services Officer submitted Report No 805-2001 giving details of offers received to carry out the above works.
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by W H Brown Construction Limited amounting to 21,543.32 to which required to be added allowances of 308 for building warrant and 3,632 for professional services making a total expenditure of 25,483.32.
The Committee also noted that W H Brown Construction Limited had listed the undernoted sub-contractors:-

Pitkerro Plumbing - Plumbing
Angus Decorating, Arbroath - Painting
(b) Gillies Park Pavilion - Demolition
The City Engineer submitted Report No 728-2001 giving details of offers received to carry out the above works.
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Safedem Limited amounting to 3,443 to which required to be added allowances of 1,407 for contingencies and 650 for professional fees making a total expenditure of 5,500.
The Convener agreed that the undernoted item be considered as a matter of urgency in terms of Standing Order No. 52(3)(b) in view of the timescales involved.
VIII PROPOSED VISITATION TO SPORT STUDY TOUR - DENMARK - 24TH JANUARY UNTIL 29TH JANUARY, 2002
It was reported that the Council had been invited through the Scottish Association of Local Sports Councils to have representation at Member level on a Study Tour organised by the Danish Gymnastic and Sports Association (DGI) to study policy practices and strategies and the operations of DGI's development of sports at local level. DGI would meet the costs of accommodation and transport in Denmark.
The Committee agreed to the attendance of the Convener.
