I CITY SQUARE COMPLEX, CHRISTMAS LIGHTS 2001/2002

 

Consideration of Report No 565-2001 by the City Architectural Services Officer was deferred for a week.

 

II DUNDEE AIRPORT, ALTERATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS - PARTNERSHIP CONTRACT

 

There was submitted Report No 566-2001 by the City Architectural Services Officer detailing the proposed Partnership to carry out alterations for international arrivals at Dundee Airport. This scheme was approved in principle by the Economic Development Committee on 12th February, 2001 - Report No 78-2001 refers (Dundee Airport, Four Year Capital Expenditure Plan 2001/02 to 2005/06).

 

The Committee approved Hall & Tawse as the Partnership Contractor for the alteration works. It was noted that under the partnership agreement Hall & Tawse had agreed to carry out these works up to a guaranteed maximum price of 285,000 with 41,200 added for professional services and feasibility study, giving a total cost of 326,200.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1973 that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

III COMMERCIAL LEASES

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 553-2001 by the Director of Economic Development detailing a commercial lease in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

Playing Fields, Graham Street, Dundee.

 

IV RENT REVIEWS

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 554-2001 by the Director of Economic Development detailing the review of rent in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

54 South Tay Street, Dundee

V 0.215 HA (0.53 ACRES), OR THEREBY, SITE AT FOWLER ROAD, WEST PITKERRO INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

 

The Director of Economic Development reported that he had negotiated the sale of the above site which will be used for the construction of an industrial unit with associated offices, access, car parking and landscaping. The development will require to be completed within two years of the date of entry.

 

The Committee accordingly approved the sale on the terms set out and remitted to the Director of Support Services to complete the necessary legal formalities.
