I CAPITAL EXPENDITURE MONITORING 2000/01
After considering Report No. 741-2000 by the Director of Finance appraising the members of the latest position regarding the Council's Capital Expenditure Programme for 2000/01 the Committee noted the contents of the report.
II REVENUE MONITORING 2000/01
There was submitted Report No. 746-2000 by the Director of Finance providing members with an analysis of the 2000/2001 Projected Revenue Outturn as at 31st October, 2001 monitored against the adjusted 2000/01 Revenue Budget.
The Committee instructed the Director of Finance in conjunction with all Chief Officers of the Council to continue to monitor the Council's 2000/01 Projected Revenue Outturn and to use his best endeavours to ensure the final outturn for the financial year was as close to the approved Revenue Budget as possible.
In addition, the Committee noted that the overall General Fund 2000/01 Projected Revenue Outturn as at 31st October, 2000 showed an overspend of 35,000 against the adjusted 2000/01 Revenue Budget and that the Housing Revenue Account projected a 2000/01 spend in line with the budget.
III RELIEF OF RATES - CHARITY RELIEF
There was submitted Report No. 716-2000 by the Director of Finance seeking authorisation to grant Charity relief on non-domestic properties. The Committee approved the undernoted applications:-

IV UNIVERSITY OF ABERTAY DUNDEE STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION - ADMISSION TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT PENSION SCHEME
On a reference to Article I of the Minute of Meeting of this Committee of 10th June, 1996 there was submitted Report No. 733-2000 by the Director of Finance intimating that the University of Abertay Dundee Students' Association had requested admittance to the Local Government Pension Scheme administered by Dundee City Council.
The Committee approved accordingly.
V TREASURY MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY 2000/2001 (SIX MONTHS TO 30TH SEPTEMBER, 2000)
There was submitted Report No. 758-2000 by the Director of Finance reviewing the Treasury Management Activities for the period 1st April, 2000 to 30th September, 2000.
The Committee noted the information contained in the report.
The Convener agreed that the undernoted item be considered as a matter of urgency in terms of Standing Order No.51(3)(b) in view of the timescales involved.
VI SHERIFF OFFICER SERVICES - 1ST APRIL, 2001 TO 31ST MARCH, 2004
After considering Report No.751-2000 by the Director of Finance the Committee agreed to extend the above contracts with Messrs Christopher Lyall & Co and A A Hutton for three years from 1st April, 2001 to 31st March, 2004 and that it be remitted to the Director of Finance to have the discretion to extend the contracts for a further two years from 1st April, 2004 to 31st March, 2006 if he remained satisfied with the service being provided.
