If court action is taken and your case is enrolled in court you will receive a summons with a court date and the reason being for payment of rent, eviction, and expenses. You are entitled to seek legal advice regarding this as the Sheriff will make the last decision which could lead to you losing your home.
Along with the court summons you will be served with a Time to Pay Application so you can submit an offer of payment to the court on how you are going to clear your arrears. You can also contact the Rent Collection team to submit your offer of payment.
If you are maintaining your offer of payment, then your case may be continued to monitor for further payments. This means another court date will be assigned.
If a Decree is granted against you at court this allows Dundee City Council to evict you from your home. You must contact the Rent Collection team to discuss this matter.
It is your responsibility to make sure your rent is paid and to contact the Rent Collection team if you are having difficulties. Between each of the recovery actions, a rent officer will also make every effort to contact you by phone, text, email, and letter. An officer may also carry out a visit to your home to try and discuss the matter.
