To help everyone enjoy and look after our parks and open spaces, there are Management Rules which can be downloaded here. These are on display in the main parks notice boards. Everyone is encouraged to read and familiarise themselves with them.
Dundee City Council’s Management Rules regulate public use of Council owned land. Visitors should be aware that the Rules have the effect of modifying access rights as provided in the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003. As a result the following are not allowed:-
- dog walking on Broughty Ferry Beach (designated area) (1 May to 30 September) Rule 4.2
- dogs off lead at Riverside Nature Park (designated area) (1 April to 31 July) Rule 4.3
- kite flying (within the airport exclusion zone) Rule 5.5
The following require written permission :-
- walking or cycling off paths at Riverside Nature Park (1 April to 31 July) Rule 3.9
- camping Rule 5.7
- swimming in wildlife and ornamental ponds Rule 8.5
