Dundee City Council have entered a long-term waste partnership with MVV Environmental who process all non-recyclable general waste from household grey bins. At their Baldovie Energy from Waste (EfW) facility, non-recyclable general waste is converted into energy (heat and electricity) via a process called combined heat and power (CHP).
Plant tours and workshops are available and highly recommended for students of all Dundee primary and secondary schools and community groups. Students can find out about the energy from waste process, take part in STEM focused activities and discover how Reduce, Reuse and Recycle improves sustainability.
