Bulky Uplift Service

Dundee City Council is able to provide a Special Collections service to uplift bulky waste items.

You can request an uplift for bulky household items from outside your property at ground floor level, with clear access at all times.

We require an itemised list at time of payment. Bulky items will be uplifted by using the online booking form.

Alternatively you can take the items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Preparing for the Collection

You can request an uplift for up to 6 bulky household items.
An itemised list will be required at the time of payment.
These items must be presented outside your property at ground level on the agreed day of collection. Items must be placed as near to the kerbside as possible and easily accessible by the collection vehicle.
Scheduled item(s) for collection must be at the collection point awaiting collection by 7.30am on the day of collection.
Any gates should be left unlocked and parked cars should not obstruct items or view (where possible).
Loose waste must be double bagged and securely tied or it will not be taken.
Items for collection should not be filled with other rubbish, and fridge/freezers should be emptied.You do not have to be home when items are collected providing they are accessible

Collection - What we will do

A specific collection day will be given, however a time of collection cannot and collections can take place at any time between 7.30am and 3.00pm.
On arrival crew will carry out a risk assessment to check whether it is safe for the collection to take place.
If the collection cannot be made on the day, a card will be left advising the reason why i.e. items were not placed out on time, were inaccessible or could not be safely uplifted. A further collection can be re-scheduled.
We will endeavour to collect your uplift on the allocated day. If your request is not completed on the allocated day, the collection crew will prioritise the collection for the following day. Please contact customer services on 01382 436238 for further details.
Only the items of waste listed on the booking will be collected.

Collection - What we will not do

We will not collect items from back gardens, garages, garden sheds or inside the property.
The collection team will not dismantle furniture, disconnect cookers, or remove loose waste.
Items from building renovations, house clearances, garden sheds, fences, tree cuttings, kitchen renovations, bathroom suites etc. will not be collected until further notice.
We will not collect any additional items presented or any different items to those originally listed.
Items that cannot be safely lifted/manoeuvred by a two-person crew will not be collected.
Items that are assessed as too heavy by the crew will not be collected.
