Bins - Request and Apply

Please carefully check around your area before reporting your bin/food caddy as missing. Bins/food caddies can often get mixed up with neighbours, or be blown around by high winds.

We recommend all bins/food caddies have your property number or identifying details marked on the containers so they can more easily be found.

* Please note that our crews may withhold delivery of a replacement if the reported missing bin or food caddy is found or identified at the delivery address.

If your bin has minor wear and tear or damage, it is probably still usable. If the wheels are sticking, try oiling them.
 
If your bin is more badly damaged e.g. if there is a large crack or a lid, caddy handle, wheel or axle is missing etc., you can report the damage and request a replacement using the following link.

You may be eligible for an additional Grey refuse bin if you meet any of the following criteria:

• Six (6) or more permanent residents live in the property.
• Household includes two (2) or more children using disposable nappies.
• For health-related waste arisings from residents in the household.

You can apply for an additional refuse bin and permit by using the following link. You will be asked to submit supporting evidence to validate your application and you should be making full use of recycling and food waste services available to you.

You may be eligible for an assisted bin collection if you meet any of the following criteria:

• Incapacity due to illness/infirmity.
• In receipt of: Attendance Allowance/Personal Independence Payment/Disability Living Allowance.
• Age 70 or over.

You can apply for an assisted collection by using the following link. You will be asked to submit supporting evidence or give consent to personal information held by Dundee City Council being checked to validate your application.

If you are moving into a new-build property that does not yet have any bins, please contact the developer or seller, and they will arrange delivery of the appropriate bins to your address. Do not use the online bin request page, as this will cause a delay in provision of your waste collection service.
