Consultation on the closure of St Pius X Roman Catholic Primary School and Nursery

Dundee City Council undertook a consultation on the proposed closure of St Pius X Roman Catholic Primary School and Nursery.

As part of this process, the Council sought views on the potential expansion of the catchment area of St Francis RC Primary School to accommodate the existing St Pius X RC Primary School catchment area.

On 2nd December 2024, The Children, Families and Communities Committee approved the proposed consultation which could see the permanent closure of St Pius X RC Primary and Nursery at the end of the academic session 2025/26.

The report to the meeting and meeting minutes detail the proposals.

This consultation was undertaken in accordance with the schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010, which requires a formal consultation to take place whenever there are changes to the school estate.

The consultation period ran for 30 school days from Monday 6th January, 2025 to Wednesday 19th February, 2025.
