Dundee is a Fair Trade city, and Dundee City Council is committed to promoting and raising awareness of Fair Trade.
Buying Fair Trade products ensures that producers get a fair price for their products to support their families and to invest in their businesses and in improvements that benefit their communities, and ensures decent working conditions.
You can find out more by looking at the websites of the local Fair Trade Forum and the national Fair Trade Foundation. Download Dundee City Council's Fair Trade policy.
What can you do to make a difference?
- do you drink fair trade tea and coffee or fair trade wine?
- do you eat fair trade bananas, biscuits and chocolate?
- do you look out for the Fair Trade mark when buying in shops and cafes? Fair trade crafts make great presents – as do fair trade flowers
- could you run a fair trade breakfast or coffee morning at your place of work, school, church or community centre?
- if you are involved in a football club, do you know you can buy fair trade footballs?
Fair Trade gives you the power to change the world as you shop.
