The Dundee City Council Trusted Trader Scheme is a local business partnership which aims to increase consumer confidence, promote good practice within local businesses and help to protect citizens from doorstep crime. The Sustainable Transport & Roads service is responsible for ensuring the safe movement of goods and people, allowing for economic and social development within the city.
The Food Safety & Standards service enforces legislation which aims to ensure that food sold and supplied in the city is safe to eat. They inspect every food business within Dundee on their hygiene standards and safe production of food. This extends to advice for food businesses.

The non-domestic rates are based on the rateable value of a property, which is determined by the independent Scottish Assessors. The amount payable is calculated by multiplying the property's rateable value by a pence in the pound, known as the rate poundage. This is set annually by Scottish Ministers.
