Statutory guidance from the Department for Education states that Parents/Carers have a responsibility to ensure that their child/young person attend school; including making travel arrangements to and from home to school.
Dundee City Council may provide travel assistance if the child/young person has additional support needs or a recognised medical condition - visible or hidden - which might affect their ability to walk or travel by public transport, whether they are accompanied or not.
Families with eligible children/young people should now apply for travel assistance during School Term 2025-26 commencing in August 2025. The closing date for applications is Friday 14th February 2025.
Although late applications will be considered the ASN Travel Team cannot guarantee that transport assistance will be available.
