Resident Parking Permits

• Please note Dundee City Council has begun to enforce the Low Emission Zone in the City Centre, please check your car is compliant. Further information can be found at Dundee Low Emission Zone Scheme (LEZ) | Dundee City Council
• General – All applicants should supply a current V5C DVLA Registration Document which shows the same name and address details as the person applying for the Residents Parking Permit. Dundee City Council will confirm that the residence is within the area defined in the appropriate Traffic Regulation Order and check liability using the Council Tax System. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to apply for a new permit annually before your current permit expires. Dundee City Council reserves the right to issue/refuse any permit at any time.
• Proof of residence – Dundee City Council will verify the applicant’s residence by using the Council Tax system. For purpose built student accommodation (Houses of Multiple Occupation) if the residents cannot be verified through the Council Tax system then the applicant will be required to provide a Student Certificate that confirms the term time address, and their lease agreement.
• Vehicle – Dundee City Council will only accept a V5C DVLA Registered Document as proof that you are the registered keeper. The V5C should hold the same address as the residency address
• Company Car Permits – The applicants should provide a copy of the V5C held by the company along with a recent original headed letter from the customer’s employer confirming that the customer is an employee along with the make, model and registration number of the vehicle. The letter must also confirm the applicant’s exclusive use of the vehicle 365 days a year. In the event a company V5C is unavailable, a lease agreement is acceptable

Annual permits are available to residents in the following zones:

• City Centre - £150 (per annum) allows a permit holder to park their vehicle in any on street pay and display bays or any Dundee City Council Car Park within their allocated zone in the City Centre Controlled Parking Zone.  It also allows parking in Hunter Street Car Parks which are just outside this zone.
• Broughty Ferry - £100 (per annum) allows a permit holder to park their vehicle in either Queen Street, Brook Street or Fort Street Car Park.
• Menzieshill - £25 (per annum) allows a permit holder to park their vehicle in ‘Permit Holders Only’ bays or in a Dundee City Council Car Park within the Menzieshill area with the exception of Menzieshill Community Centre Car Park.

A refund will be calculated pro rata depending on the number of months left on the permit.

Please note there will be no refund for a Menzieshill permit.

Dundee City Centre - the minimum refund will be £41.32, and the maximum will be £124.00 depending on the number of days you have left on the permit.

Broughty Ferry - the minimum refund will be £29.00, and the maximum will be £87.00 depending on the number of days you have left on the permit.
