Mobile Bus Tickets Made As Easy As ABC

Downloading a mobile bus ticket that covers all operators in Dundee has just become as easy as ABC! 

The ABC ticket, which covers services provided by Moffat & Williamson, Stagecoach East Scotland and Xplore Dundee, was only previously available as a paper version or loaded onto a smartcard. 

But now the ABC day and weekly ticket is available through the Stagecoach and Xplore Dundee apps. 

ABC day and week tickets offer unlimited travel on All Bus Company services in three ticket zones - Dundee, East Fife and Dundee + East Fife combined. 

ABC is a partnership between the bus operators, Dundee City Council and Fife Council and is administered by Dundee City Council. 

Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure depute convener Cllr Siobhan Tolland said: “Unlike some bus day tickets that limit you to travelling with a single bus company, the ABC ticket allows you to travel with all bus companies in the area. 

“I am pleased to see that it is now available via bus company apps to allow ease of purchase. 

“This ticket is part of our efforts to encourage the use of sustainable transport by making it easier and more convenient for people to travel by bus.” 

Cabinet Secretary for Transport Fiona Hyslop said: “I am pleased to see this bus-to-bus ticket now become available on mobile, helping passengers travel across Dundee and the east of Fife on any bus. 

  “This is the latest of a number of initiatives, supported by the National Smart Ticketing Advisory Board, promoting simpler access to travel, joining the Glasgow Tripper and Aberdeen GrassHopper schemes for multi-operator bus travel across their regions. 

“These integrated tickets are going from strength to strength in their areas, showing huge passenger demand, and I welcome the launch of this digital ABC ticket.” 

Sarah Elliott, Commercial Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: "More and more of our customers are choosing to buy bus tickets digitally so we're pleased to be able to offer the ABC multi-operator range of bus tickets on our app now too.  

“The Stagecoach Bus app not only provides a simple way to buy and store your bus ticket, but you can plan your journey and track your bus in real-time too, even saving your favourite journeys to make it quick and easy to find your next bus."
