Christmas Village Delivers Community Benefits

Dundee City Council and NL Productions are working together to ensure that Dundee’s Christmas Village is delivering community benefits for local people and families.
A senior councillor is welcoming the efforts which have seen employment opportunities created for unemployed people across the run of the village in City Square.
Meanwhile, hundreds of tickets are being distributed to targeted families across the city, while school and community groups are receiving reduced rates at certain times.
NL Productions is also working with its charity partners Dundee Bairns to allow access for families they work with.
Cllr Steven Rome, convener of Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure, said: “It is important that we think about how we can help as many people as possible to access the village and its attractions.
“Council officers have been working closely with NL Productions to ensure that tickets can be distributed to targeted groups, while groups can also receive a discount by contacting NL Productions directly.
“I am also pleased to see that employment opportunities have been created through this close working partnership with NL Productions.
“This community benefits programme is ensuring that Dundee's Christmas Village has a real impact for people across the city.”
Jonathan Brown, of NL Productions, added: "At NL Productions, we are committed to creating magical experiences that also make a meaningful difference in the community.
“By partnering with Dundee City Council, we’re proud to provide employment opportunities for local residents, ensure families across the city can enjoy the Christmas Village, and support charitable initiatives like Dundee Bairns. Together, we’re making the festive season brighter for everyone in Dundee."
