Children, Families and Communities Convener Stewart Hunter is congratulating pupils on their achievements as SQA results are texted and posted to them today (Tuesday 6 August).

Councillor Hunter said: "Today over 3,000 (3,209) young people from Dundee schools will receive their SQA exam results for 2024.

"They have worked extremely hard to prepare for these and their results that will help them to plan for the next steps in their futures.

"The number of awards our young people have been presented for continues to grow with 14,956 SQA awards being sat in 2024, compared to 14,732 last year.

"I would like to congratulate all our young people on their achievements and thank our school staff and our parents, carers and families for all the support they provide for their young people.

"Staff are available in secondary schools this week to give young people and their families advice and support, and to discuss all their possible options.

"The Children and Families Service is now analysing the award data and a full report on the details will be presented to the Children, Families and Communities Committee later this session.

"Information from these results will also help schools and the Service to plan for the new school year ahead."

From 8am on results day, the SQA will open their Candidate Advice Line on 0345 279 1000 to answer young people’s questions.

Young people can also speak to dedicated careers advisors on the Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Helpline on 0808 100 8000 if they have any questions about their next steps.
