The second phase of the Community Council Consultation is underway.

This review of the scheme for the establishment of Community Councils will help determine how Dundee’s community councils will look in the future.

Views are being sought on proposals for:

Boundary changes to some current community councils to reflect Dundee's communities more accurately in 2024 and beyond

An increase in the admin grant to community councils

Recognising the statutory rights community councils have to take part in processes affecting their community in Dundee's Scheme

An increased role for 16- and 17-year-olds to take part in community councils

This eight-week consultation will run from 26th January to Friday 22nd March 2024.

Children, Families and Communities Convener Stewart Hunter said: "Community Councils are hugely important and play a key role in linking our communities with the council.

“Your local community council plays such a pivotal role in making your local area a wonderful place to live and this latest consultation will help shape their future.

“We want to make sure Dundee’s community councils are fit for purpose, and I hope this will do that and I would urge you to take part in this consultation.”
