Cycle access for city car parks
MORE THAN £80,000 of work to create cycle access to two city multi-storey car parks is set to be discussed by councillors next week.
The city development committee will be asked to approve work at Greenmarket and Olympia by Dundee Plant Ltd to improve access and provide free parking for cyclists.
Mark Flynn, committee convener said: “Joining up all of the work that we are currently doing across the city to improve access to active travel is crucial to its ultimate success.
“That’s why improvements such as these important in achieving our goal of becoming a greener city which improves health and other outcomes that will tackle inequalities.”
A £62,000 grant has been awarded by Cycling Scotland to support the development.
If the tender is agreed work on new ground floor bike access and cycle parking at Greenmarket and Olympia MSCP will take place over the summer.
