A fourth Community Clean-Up has taken place as part of Dundee’s Take Pride in Your City campaign.

The clean-up took place in the Strathmartine area this week as part the wider campaign to help make a difference to Dundee’s neighbourhoods, parks and open spaces.

The three-day initiative saw council teams carry out additional works such as the removal of litter and debris, strimming near walkways, general tidying of communal areas where required and further sweeping to path and street areas.

Neighbourhood Services Committee Convener Heather Anderson said: “The Community Clean-Up campaign continues to make a real difference to communities around Dundee and it’s a valuable contribution to our Take Pride in Your City campaign.

“We’ve listened to what people say they want us to do more of and we’re doing it. These Community Clean-Ups have been welcomed and well used. As well as providing skips for recycling and collection of household items, we also tidy up streets, paths and communal areas. This gives everyone a chance to really Take Pride in our City right in the middle of their local community.

“Through this and the previous Community Clean-Ups, I’ve seen first-hand the positive response of communities and the impact our hard work teams are making on streets and outdoor areas.”

The initiative has previously taken place most recently in Coldside, as well as in the Linlathen and Maryfield areas of the city.

Information about future community clean-ups will be communicated to directly to residents ahead of them taking place.
