Residents in Dundee are being reminded that support remains available over the festive period.

Support offered by the Dundee partners over the Christmas and New Year period includes food provision, the Open Doors Winter Community Programme and general assistance.

The Dundee Community Food Network is providing Christmas and New Year food provision for those who may need it. The provision runs from Monday 19th December 2022 to Mon 9th January 2023, with some projects requiring pre-booking and requests. More information is available on the Faith in the Community Dundee website.

The city’s Open Doors Winter Community Programme offers members of the public warm and welcoming spaces to meet others and in some cases the opportunity to take part in activities. An online map detailing the Open Doors venues in local areas can be found on the Dundee City Council website.

Dundee Partnership Forum Chair Dundee City Council Leader John Alexander said: “Christmas can be a challenging time of the year for many. We want everyone to know the support is there, if needed, and that no one is alone.

“Despite it being the festive period, individuals may still need assistance and Dundee’s strong network of support can help to provide that – even over Christmas and the New Year.

“This year has seen many charities, volunteers, organisations and public services come together to help individuals in very difficult circumstances. No one should be afraid to get in touch if they need support now or in the future.”
