Dundee is keeping the green flag flying for environmental excellence.

The city has again been well represented in the national Green Flag Awards, with seven city sites being recognised this year.

The Green Flag Award scheme is run by Keep Scotland Beautiful and aims to reward well managed parks and green spaces.

The 2021 Dundee flag winners are:

Barnhill Rock Garden, Trottick Mill Ponds Local Nature Reserve, Baxter Park, Templeton Woods, Dundee Law, Slessor Gardens and Riverside Nature Park.

Barnhill Rock Garden is receiving its 15th Green Flag Award this year.

Neighbourhood Services Convener, Councillor Anne Rendall, said: “It’s fantastic to see the city’s greenspaces and our hard-working community groups being recognised.

“There are innovative partnerships between the council and volunteers to maintain high standards during what has been an extremely challenging period.

“Many of Dundee’s sites are long-term winners. These awards showcase some of the wonderful spots Dundee has to offer as well as highlighting the attention our volunteers give to them to keep them looking so nice.”
