The Council has today (Wednesday 14th October) introduced new ‘03’ phone numbers for selected key services, making it simpler and, in some cases, cheaper for residents to contact us.
The new numbers will connect callers to the same Council teams and services as before, with no change to how calls are handled.
Importantly, our existing 0845 payments number now has a new ‘03’ alternative. Calls to ‘0845’ numbers can have additional call charges, while calls to ‘03’ numbers cost no more than a standard ‘01’ or ‘02’ call and are included within inclusive mobile and landline call packages in the same way.
This means that for many residents, particularly those with inclusive calls, using the new ‘03’ payments number can reduce or remove the additional cost associated with calling the existing '0845' number.
Existing telephone numbers will continue to work, with the new ‘03’ numbers providing an additional way to contact us.
