Community Planning means that the Council works with other public sector organisations, and representatives of the private, voluntary and community sectors, to agree a vision for Dundee's future and a set of actions to deal with the key issues facing the city. Community planning is managed through the Dundee Partnership, which agrees Dundee's Single Outcome Agreement. This covers themes such as building stronger communities, health and care, community safety, learning and culture, caring for the environment, and work and enterprise. Changing For The Future is Dundee City Council's approach to Corporate Improvement. Led by a team in the Chief Executive's Service, the programme has already helped us deliver savings and efficiencies of over £50 million since 2010, through projects such as organisational restructure, integration of services, a more corporate approach to asset and fleet management, and establishment of a corporate business support service following a review of back-office services. Phase 4 of the programme is focusing on how we best maintain and operate assets, maximise use of new technology, collaborate with other councils and align our workforce to meet the needs of citizens. Alongside Changing For The Future, our STEP programme (Systems Thinking Empowers People) is embedding a systematic approach to employee engagement in service improvement across the Council.

A Members' Support Service is provided to all Councillors. This includes the full range of secretarial services, provision of IT equipment and office accommodation, arrangements for surgeries, training and assistance in dealing with constituents' enquiries.
