Air Quality Action Plan Consultation

Wednesday, June 19, 2024 to Friday, August 2, 2024

Dundee City Council published its first Air Quality Action Plan in 2011 due to non-compliance with a number of air quality objectives at that time at monitoring locations across Dundee. Since the publishing of the 2011 Air Quality Action Plan, the city has undergone many changes and air quality has significantly improved to levels where compliance with the objectives is being achieved across the city.

In 2023 the Scottish Government published new Guidance on Air Quality Action Plans which requires for any existing Air Quality Action Plans to be reviewed and updated following the publishing of the new Guidance. The updated Air Quality Action Plans are then to be formally reviewed and republished on a five-yearly cycle from date of initial publication. As such, the draft 2024 Air Quality Action Plan that is the subject of this consultation is to cover the period from 2024 - 2029.

The draft 2024 Air Quality Action Plan can be viewed on the Dundee City Council website.

The purpose of the six-week consultation is for feedback to be obtained on the draft 2024 Air Quality Action Plan and the action measures contained within the Plan which are proposed to be progressed during its 5-year lifespan. The consultation period will close on Friday 2nd August 2024.

The consultation can be completed through this online survey.
